Always A Student In Yoga

Since I started my yoga journey (2014), I have been in constant search of the practice.

This year, I am completing my second 200H Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) with SSV Yoga Ashram by end of March 2021. I am studying under the practices of Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga (I finished my 200H Vinyasa YTT last August 2020 with Pranalaya Yoga). My greatest takeaway in this practice is having students around the world with teachers from Rishikesh, India.

From February 26 to March 5, I would like to invite you to my Yoga Workshop. The workshop includes pranayama (breathing), meditation, yoga anatomy and philosophy, Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha yoga classes. The classes will run for 30 minutes and the ashtanga vinyasa and hatha yoga classes will run for 90 minutes each.

The schedule will be as follows:
February 26, Friday (10:05 PM) – Meditation (30 minutes)
February 27, Saturday (7:45 AM) – Pranayama (30 minutes)
March 1, Monday (6:00 PM) – Yoga Philosophy (30 minutes)
March 2, Tuesday (6:00 PM) – Yoga Anatomy (30 minutes)
March 4, Thursday (8:00 AM) – Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (90 minutes)
March 5, Friday (8:00 AM) – Hatha Yoga (90 minutes)

The workshop is pay-as-you-can, as affordable as 100 pesos per class (or 2 USD). Register thru my Kuula TV Channel (Move You Better) with your Apple, Google or Facebook ID. Look for the workshop classes and click join.

What do you need to join? All you need to do is have a stable internet connection, registered in the classes, an open mind and a willing body.

Here are the classes included in the workshop:

Meditation – while there are different types of meditation, this practice includes being in the present. We will be in two (2) poses: sukhasana (easy seated pose) and savasana (corpse pose). We will also include Pranayama here to keep the mind from wandering. This will run for 30 minutes.

Pranayama – the sanskrit term for breathing (prana – life energy, ayama – to expand), we will learn several techniques to expand the breath. We will learn yogic breath, alternate nostril breathing, breath of fire among others. This will run for 30 minutes.

Yoga Philosophy – most of the students crash the Yoga Teacher Training courses because they feel like they miss something from their classes. Here is a chance for you, as a student to learn about the philosophy of yoga. We will cover the yamas (self restraint) and niyamas (observations) and a bit of the Yoga Sutras (sutra is scripture in sanskrit) and the Bhagavad Gita. This will run for 30 minutes.

The Wonderful Diaphragm – we all know the diaphragm and its contribution to the respiratory system. But did you know that the diaphragm muscle helps us in getting into our yoga poses (asanas) better? It helps activate the locks in our body (throat, abdomen and pelvic floor). How? Attend this class to learn more. This will run for 30 minutes.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga – the practice created by K. Pattabhi Jois and is traditional and a very active flow. This practice aims to create internal heat, concentration, a supple body and clarity of the mind. This is a guided class and you are welcome to use props (blocks and straps) to gain access to the asanas. This will run for 90 minutes.

Hatha Yoga – while the Vinyasa yoga is flowing in a special way, Hatha yoga is like Vinyasa combining the Pranayama (breathing). The asanas (yoga poses) is all about proper alignment and slow breathing, this is highlighting the physical aspect of the yoga practice. This will run for 90 minutes.

Join this Yoga Workshop and if you are a beginner, you will surely enjoy these classes.
