Sat NamSat means truth, Nam means name
Every Tuesday morning, Pranalaya Yoga lead teacher, Gelie leads Kundalini Yoga online. And I have been intrigued by it ever since I seriously practiced yoga.
The search for higher consciousness is I think what yoga is about (yoga means union). Our being humans limits us from seeing the truth and the practice of yoga invites us to unveil the illusions and reveal to us reality. Through the eight limbs of yoga (ashtanga yoga), we may see the truth; not in an instant, but being in the moment and not worrying about the results will help (something that the Gita tells us in the slokas).
Inhaling Sat, exhaling for Nam is the mantra that will help in knowing the truth. Sat Nam in English means, “I am Truth” or “Truth is my essence.” And as we breathe at the right nostril (the Surya breath) and activating the Prana mudra (joining of the thumb and the ring finger), helps in flowing the right energy as we start the year.
2020 sucks no doubt, but it doesn’t mean 2021 should too. Let’s start hoping again and think of ways to rise again from the mud.
